This was so enjoyable to read. I can relate. I have been diagnosed with Dupuytren's Contracture, or in layperson's terms, "Viking hand." HAH. Knew it! Remember how the Vikings finally settled down in Ireland to become farmers and such? They mingled with the population, and since I am quite a Celt (Cornish, Irish, Welsh), voila, I am suffering from Viking hand! Sigh. I am desperate for comfortable shoes, so ZAPPOS appears, as does Land's End, and the like. It's fun and creepy how the algorithm knows what I am THINKING about! You are spot on. As a side note, on Masterpiece Theatre/PBS, I have been watching the newer POLDARK, set in Cornwall, with the mines, and so on. Mom and I had watched the first one and thought that the earlier Ross was a handsome guy. Aiden Turner is dreamy. I won't lie. Black hair, brown eyes--like my husband was. It's an addictive series. Well done, Janet.
